The famous Rondeau for piano by Louis-Claude Daquin (1694-1772) begins with the motif of the spring messenger and uses the cuckoo's call permanently, sometimes superficially, but often hidden in the accompaniment. The piece is very suitable for this lineup, and even with piano accompaniment it should not miss its effect on the listener.
