The full sequence of the 3 miniatures are: Moderato, Adagio and Vivace. Contrasting elements connect the three short sentences (about 4 minutes) with each other.
The ensemble is created for 2 trumpets in Bb or C, Horn in F, trombone and tuba. Alternatively, for Horn in F is a trumpet - / flugelhorn voice in Bb voice in, for trombone Tenor in Bb and for the tuba a bass voice in Bb.
