Felix Argast SOME THOUGHTS TO THE COMPOSITION
THE APHORISMEN FOR MIXED CHOR
In the summer of 2019, on a lonely hike in the secluded mountain valley of the Swiss mountains, I unexpectedly thought of a NAME in my "relaxed and contemplative reflection": DIETRICH BONHOEFFER (1906-1945).
For the present composition, the search for and finding the many theological writings and poems left behind by DIETRICH BONHOEFFER was a positive one.
The texts were formed by me into seven APHORISMEN and designed for a multi-voiced GESANGS-CHOR.
In order for the sung text template to receive a powerful statement, it makes sense to have the APHORISMEN replayed by a speaking voice before the singing chorus is heard.
During the composition work I realized that for the intonation-safe execution of the MIXED A CAPPELLA CHOR should have a certain size with a good vocal distribution, in order to cope well with the divided choral voices.
This led me to add an additional piano organ part (also for rehearsal work) so that the work can also reach an expressive performance for smaller choirs with a fine organ accompaniment.
May the contemplative text of DIETRICH BONHOEFFER, in harmony with the composed music, touch many people and have a powerful, empowering and hopeful effect on them.

Die zahlreichen Loblieder auf Köln, in kölscher Sprache, besingen nur  rudimentär (Dom, Glocken...).
Die wahre Bedeutung unserer Stadt, die sich aus ihrer christlichen Geschichte ableitet. „Kölle, de hellige Stadt“ soll hier eine Lücke schließen und ist damit geeignet, in den zahlreichen Mundartgottesdiensten ein wertvoller Programmbeitrag zu sein..

Jacques Arcadelt Stil ist interessant gemacht, melodiegeprägt, und dabei recht gut auszuführen. Seine Musik war in Italien und Frankreich mehr als hundert Jahre populär. Seine erste Publikation, ein Buch mit Madrigalen, wurde allein in fast 60 Sammelwerken zwischen 1538 und 1654 abgedruckt. Er übernahm den italienischen Stil und verband ihn mit der technischen Perfektion des frankoflämischen harmonisch, polyphonen Stils, darüber hinaus schrieb er eingängige Melodien, die leicht auszuführen waren.

Felix Argast comes from Switzerland, he was born in 1936 in Basel.
As an artist, he is a member of the Swiss Werkbund (SWB). As a designer, products designer, he has received many international awards and design awards.
His music studies, he graduated from the Music Academy in Basel. (Trumpet, piano, composition).
He spent several years in trumpeter Conservatory Orchestra, worked as a freelance musician in various symphony orchestras, and then went a rain solo career after. As leader of various choirs and instrumental ensembles he gained knowledge of his compositional work. He created an extensive oeuvre from practice for practice.
