Suite of il pastor fido for 2 Trp (or 1Trp and oboe), Organ / Piano
For the first time heard Handel's "Il pastor fido" on November 22, 1712 London Queen's (1714 King's) theater. Handel was just 27 years old. The roots of the Italian pastoral opera rich to antiquity. Was the first version still under the Italian influence the performance of the second version took place on 18 May 1743 radically revised form. Surprisingly, it turned Handel in the same year, despite a substantial success of the 2nd version (which after 13 performances experienced) on 9 November 1734, a third version of his opera before.
The present Suite from "Il Pastor Fido" Paul worked Wisskirchen for the ensemble TRUMPET AND ORGAN COLOGNE, the first time in 1993 in Altenberg Cathedral (Cologne) premiered this suite. The soloists were Barbara host, Oboe, Paul Wißkirchen, organ and Wolfgang G. Haas, trumpet. Another Auffühungsvariante with 2 trumpets and organ played the ensemble with Edward H. Tarr. Meanwhile, the Suite is one of the repertory works of many international ensembles.
