With its three movements, the sonatina for trumpet (oboe) and organ RöWV 100 is the form fast-slow-fast.
The first movement Allegretto („Marcia“) includes an inserted adagio passage, the last movement („Gigue/Rondo“) a cadenca played by the solo instrument.
The second movement is a chorale arrangement of the chorale „Strenger Richter aller Sünder“.
Premiere: Cologne / St. Maria in Kupfergasse with Wolfgang G. Haas, trumpet and Paul Wisskirchen (Domorganist Altenberg), 1991 and Altenberg Cathedral 1992nd.

About the Composer
Father Manfred Gerigk of the Dominican Order was born in Danzig (1934). After World War II, he
was a student at the High School in Oldenburg (Low Saxony). He received his basic musical orientation at home. He studied composition by self education, assisted by the musical theory of Hindemith.
He plays violin, piano and organ.
In 1963, he went for 36 years as a missionary to Bolivia. There he taught musical theory at the
teacher-training college of Santa Cruz.
The extensive list of his compositions contains works for orchestra, choral music and a varied series
of chamber music.
The composer says: “For me, music is a play that gives me great joy. I want to communicate this joy.
There is so much sadness in life and world. Nobody needs desperate music. That’s my modest musical
creed.”

Les Impressions de Romandie is a cycle of seven essays for Oboe, P, strictly speaking seven musical sketches in various forms. These are seven individually penned musical ideas, which aim to describe personal experience impressions, landscape and cultural realities of the area. In the broadest sense, the work is understood as a personal musical diary of the composer in his journey through the Romandie.
Why for Oboe and Piano?
