A.D.E. TRIO No. 114
Giulio Caccini 1551–1618
AVE MARIA
for corno da caccia (flugelhorn), viola (violin),
and harpsichord (piano/organ)
Edited and arranged by Wolfgang G. Haas

The famous Ave Maria, attributed to Caccini, has an unclear history.
It only became known very late. Whether it  actually originated from Giulio Caccini is questionable,
but it has long since found a place in concert life as ‘Ave Maria by Caccini’.
With its simplicity and spiritual depth, it continues to move listeners to this day.
As the 114th edition in the series, arranged especially for the International A.D.E. TRIO by Wolfgang G. Haas,
this work has now found a permanent place.

As in the case of the ‘Prince of Denmark's March’, which was long mistakenly attributed to Henry Purcell, this shows that some works attract famous names because of their beauty. Regardless of its authorship, the Ave Maria remains a little gem of sacred music – timeless and of lasting value.
