Reinhold Weber was born in 1927 in Gießen (Lahn). From 1946 to 1956 he studied piano with Max Martin Stein, ear training, theory Joseph Neyes (1893-1988) and Jörg Baur (*1918), and composition with Jörg Baur at the Robert-Schumann-Konservatorium, Düsseldorf, and passed his examination with distinction.
He attended further courses - in composition with Wolfgang Fortner (1907-1987), Hermann Heiß (1897–1966), in aesthetics and analysis with Oliver Messiaen (1908-1992) and in electronic music with Gerhard Nestler (1900-1983). As a full time teacher he taught piano, music theory etc at the Badisches Konservatorium from 1964 to 1992, but he also worked until 2000 in the Department of Electronic Music at the University of Karlsruhe. As a composer Rheinhold Weber also archieved distinction. His compositions have been performed in numerous concerts at home and abroad, and have been broadcast by German radio stations. More than 70 of his instrumental works (keyboard music, chamber musik etc) have been published so far, and additional 18 electronic compositions have been recorded on LP and CD.
