Manuel Castillo Navarro was born on February 8, 1930 in (Seville, Spain) and died there on November 1, 2005. He studied with Conrado del Campo in Madrid and with Nadia Boulanger in París composition. He's namesake the Academy of Music in Seville (Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Castillo") where he was a professor. His compositions for piano, vocal ensemble, chamber music, sacred music and Symphonic Music are trend in his time. He is one of the most important composers of the 20th century in Spain.
