Sonata for Bassoon, Piano

The Sonata for bassoon, piano is a 20-minute 4-movement work in cyclical form. The first movement is in strict sonata form and consists of two contrasting themes. The 2nd movement is a virtuosic scherzo in ABA form. The 3rd movement, the shortest of the Sonata is, strictly speaking, an ode, a solemn poem consisting of four elements. The 4th movement is a rondo full sprühendem playfulness and virtuosity drive for both instrumentalists. The whole set is also 3-part (ABA) and consists of 3 elements which resound alternately in piano and bassoon.
