Dieter Buwen, born 1955 in Los-heim/Saar studied school an church music at the College of Music in the Saarland (organ with Prof. Paul Schneider) as well as music theory and composition, the latter with Prof. Theo Brandmüller. Further study of the organ led him to Gaston Litaize in Paris.
Buwen is a teacher of music theorie at the College of Music Nürnberg-Augs-burg; in addition he was up 1992 until 1998 a lecturer at the College of Music
In 1999, Dieter Buwen received the 1 st price during the international organ composition competition of the city Saarlouis.
