The composer
Christhard Janetzki was born on April 21, 1959 in Zabrze, Poland (former
German Hindenburg born in Upper Silesia).
He is a prizewinner at the international composition competitions in Turin
and Ragusa/Sicily.
He lives as a freelance pianist, conductor and composer in Darmstadt.

About the work:
The Sonata for trombone & organ was written in the years 2020-2022 and is
a 3-movement work lasting almost 15 minutes in cyclic sonata form.
The 1st movement is based on the classical sonata form
with two contrasting themes which, however, are very varied
connected and interwoven are paired with improvisational recitatives
Elements that act both as independent interludes (quasi
Intermezzi) ring out, but also at the same time as form-specific recitatives
represent
The 2nd movement is written in the character of a narrative.
The 3rd movement, which also consists of two contrasting themes, is by
in terms of its entire musical conception, it is a paraphrase in rondo form
about the 1st movement.
