Schröder, Harry *1956

Born in 1956 in Kassel (Germany), studied music in Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Graz (conducting and composition), after graduation he worked as a musical assistant at the Graz Opera House, as a piano teacher at the Stuttgart Music School and a contributor to various publishers. He currently teaches at a high school with a focus on music.

Harry Schroeder has written for various ensembles in chamber music, orchestra and choir. In 1986, he won the composition prize of the ORF with the work contentio for violoncello and 8 strings. His works have various performances in many European countries, including the Festival of Contemporary Music in Graz (musikprotokoll) and Zagreb (Europhonia), and at the podium Festival in Esslingen.
Harry Schroeder lives in Schorndorf (near Stuttgart).
