Krol,Bernhard 1920 - 2013;
Monologe
für (Picc-) Trompete op.53
Berhard Krol was born on 24th June 1920 in Berlin. He completed his course of study (composition and French horn) in Vienna and Berlin, among others with Josef Ruter, through whom he is considered to be the composer – grandchild of Arnold Schönberg. Bernhard Krol has however adopted neither serial nor free tonal composition techniques. On the contrary he stands as the tonal successor of Reger and Hindemith. His compositional style shows him to be the practising musician who makes a successful effort to entertain his listeners in an amusing, if demanding manner.
